Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity (NCHFH) Incorporated works in partnership with God and His people, from every walk of life, to develop Coweta County into a thriving community, free from poverty housing. This community will be one where simple decent houses are available to all. We will build more than houses; we will build families and communities as well. This will be achieved by partnering with God's people in need under the guidance of our Lord.

The ultimate goal of NCHFH, along with Habitat For Humanity International (HFHI) is to eliminate poverty housing from the face of the earth, particularly in Coweta County by constructing and building simple decent housing.  Furthermore, all of our words and actions are for the ultimate purpose of putting shelter on the hearts and minds of people in such a powerful way that poverty housing becomes socially, politically and religiously unacceptable in our own community, but also in our nation and ultimately the world.

Founded in January of 1994, NCHFH has completed 32 homes to date.  These houses are now "home" for 47 adults and 74 children.  Through great community support we have steadily increased the number of new houses built each year.  The 2008 goal is to complete or renovate 6 homes by the end of this year and to qualify 6 new families to become responsible, successful home owners.

Using volunteer labor and tax deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat builds homes in partnership with future homeowner families. Habitat's philosophy is to provide a "hand up" rather than a "hand out".
