CTCA and NCHFH Partner to Create Change
From September 10-16, Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), Atlanta and Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity came together to assist Coweta County homeowner Maria Rodriguez as part of Habitat’s Brush with Kindness Repair Program. The program offers home repair services to area homeowners so they can continue to live in safe, decent homes for years to come.
Close to 125 volunteers were shuttled from CTCA in Newnan to the work site for two, four-hour shifts each day, helping with repair work including removing wood siding, installing new, vinyl siding, building stairs for the back entrance of the home and staining a porch. Local businesses generously donated lunch every day for the volunteers.
“We are extremely grateful to CTCA for their continued support of our projects, whether large or small,” said Cristina Bowerman, MNM, CAE, executive director of Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity. “Over the years, they have proven themselves to be an incredible community partner and we look forward to the work we can accomplish as one team in the years to come.”
Brush with Kindness candidates receive assistance based on their income, need and willingness to partner with Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity. Volunteer labor and donated materials are essential and help keep costs low. Additionally, an affordable loan is made to the homeowner to cover the cost of the work. Payments are placed in a revolving fund to help serve others in need. Habitat's home repair program would not be possible without the generosity of the Coweta Community Foundation, Kiwanis Club of Newnan, Publix Super Markets Charities, Rotary Club of Newnan, Wells Fargo and individual donors that contribute to this program.

Grant Provides Assistance To Existing Homeowners
On Friday, June 29, 2018, Newnan-Coweta Habitat for Humanity received a $2,000 grant from the Rotary Club of Newnan. Funds received will benefit NCHFH's Brush with Kindness repair program.
In 2017-2018, NCHFH completed $34,000 worth of repairs on homes throughout Coweta County. Projects included repairing the foundations of two homes, installing a new roof, replacing siding of two 1,800+ square foot homes, replacing and repairing water heaters, installing a termite bait system, repairing a dilapidated roof, and more. These repairs would not be possible without the support of granting organizations such as the Rotary Club of Newnan. Thank you for providing NCHFH with the financial resources to help existing homeowners in need.
